• Voted to increase taxes in the FY 2021 Property Tax Levy (Kane County Board Minutes, Res. 20-392 to 20-409, 11/10/20).
• Voted to increase spending in the FY 2021 Budget (Kane County Board Minutes, Ord. 20-391, 11/10/20). 
• Voted to increase taxes in the FY 2020 Property Tax Levy (Kane County Board Minutes, Res. 19-367 to 19-387, 11/12/19). 
• Voted to spend $27 million in 2019 establishing the Longmeadow Parkway Toll Bridge (Kane County Board Minutes, Ord. 20-52, 2/11/20).
• Supported a Checkout Bag Tax in 2019, which would have added a 7-cent tax to checkout bags (Kane County Board Minutes, Res. 19-122, 4/9/19).
• Voted to increase taxes in the FY 2017 Property Tax Levy for the Kane County Forest Preserve District (Kane County Chronicle, 10/28/16).  
• Voted to increase spending in the FY 2017 Budget (Kane County Board Minutes, Ord. 16-313, 11/8/16). 
• Advocated for an increase to the FY 2016 Property Tax Levy for the Kane County Forest Preserve District (Kane County Chronicle, 11/11/15).  
• Voted to increase fees in the FY 2015 Budget that residents pay for marriage licenses, death certificates and real estate transfers (Kane County Board Minutes, 11/10/14; Daily Herald, 9/24/14). 

Other highlighted votes and proposals:

• Supported creating a new $30 fee in 2010 for those paying Kane County Court Fees (Daily Herald, 4/14/10). 
• Voted to increase taxes for Kane County’s 2007 Farmland Preservation Program (Daily Herald, 4/26/07; 1/9/07) and then supported a plan in 2009 to divert funding to developers from this program (Daily Herald, 6/17/09).
• Voted to create a 4-cent a gallon gas tax in 2007 which he defended by saying "the gas tax is one fair tax" (Kane County Chronicle, 3/7/12).
