After the latest batch of ballots were counted — a total of 6,118 votes were cast as of Nov. 14, 2022 — it became clear there would not be enough new ballots returned by the Nov. 22 deadline to make up the 60-vote difference in my race for Kane County Board. Therefore, I called Michael Kenyon to congratulate him on his reelection and wished him much success in making our community the best it can be.
I knew it would be difficult to defeat a longtime incumbent with high name recognition, but I've never shied away from a challenge and have no regrets for entering the race and running a positive campaign. My lifetime commitment to helping people remains unchanged, it will simply be refocused in other ways.
While the result isn't what we expected, I am truly proud and humbled by all the support I received from so many people. I will always treasure the friendships and memories forged during this campaign. Thank you so much to everyone who supported me over these past few months; your belief in me lifted me higher up daily and continues to do so today.
